Task 11: Add a Slide Show of images from your blog.
This slide show utilises an RSS feed (Atom) from your blog and displays images/photos stored on your blog.
It seems to take one from each post.
Each image is linked to a post in your blog. If a visitor clicks on it they will be taken to that post.
The URL for the RSS feed can be found at the bottom of the home page on your blog.
Right click on it and copy the Link Location.
The gadget for the slide show is in Design > Layout > Add a Gadget > Slide Show
From Source choose Other, and then paste in your copied Feed URL.
Make the Speed Slow
After you have saved the gadget, you can move it further down your list in Layout.
If you leave it at the top of your list, it doesn't look as effective.
Save Arrangement after you have made changes.
Task 12: Add a Counter
This will show the number of visitors to your blog.
Blogger is already doing this so it will show the number of visits since your blog began.
The gadget for the counter is in Design > Layout > Add a Gadget > Statistics.
Choose All Time
Leave this near the top of your side bar, perhaps 2nd or 3rd in place and remember to save the arrangement.
Task 13: Add a Poll
Give your visitors something to do when they visit your blog. Ask them a simple question.
The gadget for the counter is in Design > Layout > Add a Gadget > Poll
Your poll can be a simple Yes/No one or have a choice of answers.
You can modify the closing date.
Save.
Once again, you probably don't want to leave this at the top of your side bar, but remember to Save the Arrangement if you move it.
Your poll will automatically close and you might like to use the results of it in a post later on.
